The Clay Elliott Easterly, MD and Mary Elvira Easterly Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 1988 by Mrs. Easterly in her husband’s memory. It is also supported by donations from his children, relatives, friend and colleagues. Dr. Easterly was a general surgeon in the Biloxi, MS area, and a 1941 graduate of the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. Upon Mary’s death on June 9, 2014, her children requested that the scholarship name be changed to include the names of both parents. The scholarship is awarded annually to a first-year medical student who shows considerable promise and is in need of financial assistance.
