Dr. and Mrs. Christopher Chambliss Harrod Scholarship

The purpose of this gift is to provide financial support to a student attending LSU Medical School in New Orleans, Louisiana having a demonstrated financial need for tuition assistance.
• The scholarship shall be awarded to a medical student with demonstrated financial need for all four years of Medical School training.
• Provided that the applicant otherwise qualifies for enrollment in the Medical School, the scholarship is to be awarded strictly on the basis of financial need.
• Provided that the applicant otherwise qualifies for enrollment in the Medical School, the scholarship is to be awarded strictly on the basis of financial need, without regard to the applicant’s academic achievement or standardized test results.
• The prospective medical student may be a person of any race, ethnicity, color, creed, sex, or sexual orientation.
• In the event the person to whom the scholarship is awarded leaves the Medical School for any reason and with no intention of returning to the Medical School, the scholarship shall be awarded to an enrolled medical student who best meets the criteria set forth above or the unused funds committed for the scholarship may be used to fund an additional scholarship.
