Fritz Lang Foundation Rural Nursing Scholarship

The Fritz Lang Foundation is establishing this scholarship to support nursing students at the LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans School of Nursing who hail from rural Louisiana communities and are committed to addressing healthcare disparities in Louisiana’s rural communities. This scholarship aims to foster academic achievement and encourage future employment in rural healthcare settings by reducing financial barriers for students who share this mission. Recipients must meet the following criteria:
• Be enrolled as an student in the LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans School of Nursing;
• Priority will be given to students who have resided at least 10 years of their lives in Louisiana’s rural parishes of Acadia, Jefferson Davis, and Vermillion parishes. Students living at least 10 years of their lives in the Louisiana rural parishes of Allen, Assumption, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Bienville, Caldwell, Cameron, Catahoula, Claiborne, Concordia, DeSoto, East Carroll, East Feliciana, Evangeline, Franklin, Grant, Iberia, Iberville, Jackson, La Salle, Lincoln, Madison, Morehouse, Natchitoches, Plaquemine, Pointe Coupee, Red River, Richland, Sabine, St. Helena, St. Mary, Tangipahoa, Tensas, Union, Vernon, Washington, West Carroll, West Feliciana or Winn may also qualify;
• Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale;
• Demonstrate an interest in, or commitment to, future employment in one of Louisiana’s rural parishes, as defined above.
