Donielle "Doni" Doucette Memorial Scholarship

The Donielle “Doni” Doucette Memorial Scholarship supports “non-traditional” students enrolled in their junior and/or senior year in the Traditional BSN and CARE programs in LSU Health’s School of Nursing. A “non-traditional” student is defined by the donor as those who are also working while attending nursing school and who may or may not claim dependents on their annual income tax form. A “dependent” is defined as any individual who is considered a "qualifying child” or a “qualifying relative.” A “qualifying child” is a person who is under the age of 19 who lived with the student for at least half of the year, did not provide at least half of his own support, and is not filing a joint tax return. A “qualified child” must be the student’s son, daughter, stepchild, foster child, brother, sister, half-brother, half-sister, stepbrother, stepsister, or a descendant of one of them, such as a niece or nephew. A “qualifying relative” must be related to the student; parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, in-laws, and stepparents. The student must have provided more than half their support, and they must have lived with the student for more than half the year. There is a minimum GPA score of 3.00 to qualify for this scholarship.
