James K. Howles Endowed Scholarship

Dr. James Kirby Howles was the Department of Dermatology head at LSU School of Medicine from 1937 – 1953 when he passed away from a heart attack at age 55. His wife, Mildred Dunn Howles, established the James K. Howles Endowed Scholarship in his memory at LSU School of Medicine. The scholarship is awarded to a deserving incoming freshman student in the School of Medicine.
