John T. Foret, M.D. Scholarship

Dr. John Foret earned his medical degree from LSU School of Medicine in 1977. He was a much-loved and respected family physician in the Lake Charles, LA community for 23 years. He retired from his practice in 2001 when he was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma. The John T. Foret, M.D. Scholarship was established by his family, friends, and colleagues to celebrate his life and medical service. The scholarship is awarded to a 4th-year student in the School of Medicine who intends to specialize in Family Medicine. The student should exhibit the high morals, values, and ethics by which Dr. Foret lived.
